CHARACTER PROFILES
MARKUS VAUGHN

Markus Vaughn is a doctor gifted with the healing touch and one of the main protaganists of Trauma Center: New Blood along with Valerie Blaylock. Originally a doctor at Concordia Medical Institute, he assisted Dr. Lloyd Wilkens with his research for a while until the risks became too great, this prompted him to volunteer to be transferred out to the Montgomery Memorial Hospital in Alaska, followed by colleague Valerie Blaylock who wished to learn the Healing Touch. His goal is to reverse the damage that has been done and destroy Stigma once and for all.
BACKGROUND
Markus was born in and grew up in California. After receiving his diploma, he eventually came to work in Concordia Medical Institute where he met Professor Lloyd Wilkens. Markus helped Wilkens with his research on the disease that would eventually come to be known as Stigma until the risks became too great. Wishing to hone his skills and do some soul searching, Markus volunteered to be transferred out to the Montgomery Memorial Hospital in Alaska, followed by colleague and friend Valerie Blaylock who wished to learn the Healing Touch from him. Markus was well liked by the staff at Montgomery, and enjoyed his less hectic lifestyle. But when Director Hoover retired and closed Montgomery, Markus, Valerie and ex-patient Elena Salazar who was now assisting Markus were forced to move back to the golden state and return to their positions at Concordia. After the disappearence of Professor Wilkens, Markus, Valerie and Elena were drafted by director Irene Quatro to join Caduceus.
PERSONALITY
Markus is in many ways the Yin to Doctor Blaylock's Yang. Markus remains calm and collected in almost any situation, and doesn't lose his temper when goaded, as is demonstrated when he appeared on Wish Come True: Miracle Surgery. Despite his calm, Markus is passionate about his job and isn't afraid to act when needs be. He genuinely cares about his patients and displays a talent at connecting with them personally. He also posseses a strong sense of morality, as is demonstrated when witnessing the uproar in Culurama.
HEALING TOUCH
Markus possesses the same Healing Touch as Derek Stiles; the ability to block out all distractions and operate up to four times faster than normal, the superhuman level of concentration gives the impression of slowing down time. However, Markus has not yet shown the ability to completely stop time, as Derek has while fighting Savato.
VALERIE BLAYLOCK

An intelligent, caring professional, Dr. Blaylock is eager to learn the Healing Touch from her colleague Dr. Vaughn, whom she followed to Montgomery Memorial. She's passionate about her work and her career, and will speak her mind when necessary. Her Healing Touch differs from Dr. Vaughn's as it is able to stop vitals from falling while it's active. However, this prevents vitals from rising too. Also, as soon as Dr. Blaylock's Healing Touch ends, vitals will automatically rise.
ELENA SALAZAR

Elena Salazar is a young woman suffering from intractable pancreatic necrosis, and Valerie and Markus's assistant. As the nurse, Elena helps contribute to the elimination of the biological weapon Stigma.
BACKGROUND
Sometime in the year 2021 (which was also when Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2 occurred) a immunity suppressant pump unit was implanted in her by Markus Vaughn while she was 13 years old. She later got an International Nursing License and got a job at the Concordia Medical Institute.
7 years later, she arrived at Montgomery Memorial Hospital caring for a gunshot victim in Episode 1-3. After the operation is complete, she reveals herself as a nurse and also reveals that the implant inside her pancreas is malfunctioning, and needs to be replaced. Markus performs the operation on her, saving her through the incredible use of the Healing Touch. She then stays as the permanent nurse of Markus and Valerie once they return to Concordia Medical Institute in Los Angeles.
